Historic Furnace Town
Visiting Furnace Town is like going back in time. Between 1832 and 1850, about 300 people lived in the town that surrounded the Nassawango Iron Furnace where iron was produced. The town included a post office, a church, a boarding house and company store. Although the town went bankrupt in 1850, you can still visit it today to see what life was like back then. Tour the different buildings and see the townspeople at work, including a broommaker, a blacksmith and a woodworker.
